Which links pay this site, and what that money does not buy.

Last updated 3 August 2026

The short version

Links to AdsCompass on this site are affiliate links. If you click one, create an advertiser account and deposit, this site may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the $50 minimum deposit is the same whether you arrive through this site or type the address yourself.

Which links these are

Five placements on the guide carry affiliate tracking: the header button, both hero buttons, the AdsCompass row in the comparison table, and one in-text link in the pricing section. Each carries a UTM tag identifying which placement it came from. Every other outbound link on this site — Chromium, WebKit, Mozilla, the IETF, the W3C, Google Search Console documentation, Business of Apps — earns nothing and exists purely as a source citation.

Rows for RollerAds, HilltopAds, Kadam, PropellerAds, RichAds, Clickadu and Adsterra are not linked at all. Those networks are listed because the comparison would be dishonest without them, not because there is money attached.

What the commercial relationship does not buy

  • Not a rating. Nobody pays for a score, a badge or a superlative.
  • Not silence about weaknesses. The guide states that AdsCompass optimisation is manual, that there is no algorithmic bid manager, and that PropellerAds and RichAds ship stronger automation — a reason to pay their higher $100 minimum instead. That stays in the text.
  • Not pre-publication review. No partner sees a page before it goes live or can request an edit afterwards.
  • Not the technical content. Nothing in the delivery-chain, Chrome enforcement or iOS sections came from a network. Those sections are sourced from browser vendors and the standards bodies, per the review methodology.

Why AdsCompass is listed first

Because it is the commercial partner, and saying so is more useful than dressing the order up as a ranking. The remaining rows run by advertiser minimum deposit. Read the table as a data set rather than a leaderboard: the numbers in it — launch year, minimum, GEO count, formats sold — are checkable against each platform's own documentation, and you should check them, because minimums change without notice.

How this affects what you read

Affiliate funding creates a real incentive to overstate the case for a paying partner. The countermeasure is not a promise of good intentions; it is a published standard you can hold the site to. The editorial policy commits to naming weaknesses, dating every figure and correcting errors in the open. If you find a place where this site failed that standard, say so — that is the mechanism working.

The site carries no display advertising, runs no sponsored posts and sells no email addresses. Affiliate commission is the only revenue. What the UTM parameters on those links do and do not carry is described in the privacy policy, and the legal position on these arrangements is in the terms of use. Background on the setup is on the about page, and the author accountable for the editorial side is Christoph Trappe.
